Marie Wimett, NP

Biography / Experience

Marie Wimett FNP-BC, had a love for science as a child, fell in love with medicine, and knew she wanted to help people. She also had a passion for volleyball and was a student athlete, competing at the Division 1 level in college. After graduating from Tulane University with a degree in Cell & Molecular Biology & Minor in Business Cum Laude, she shadowed a Nurse Practitioner and knew that was her career path. She attended University of North Carolina Chapel Hill for nursing school, worked as a nurse for a few years, and quickly pursued a degree as a Family Medicine, NP. Marie returned to the Bay Area to complete the UCSF Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner Program. She got her first job at a joint Family Practice & Urgent Care in San Francisco. During her 11 years time there, she also worked in pediatrics x 6 years, got married and had 3 kids of her own. She has 2 boys, ages 10 and 7 and a girl age 4. She loves traveling and taking her kids & family to exotic places. After her family practice job, she joined Sutter Heath to do pediatrics and internal medicine, and ended up serving the San Francisco community during Covid. Since then, Marie has been working for Carbon health x 2 years and loves the technology & patient experience that Carbon brings to healthcare. With board certification in family medicine, extensive experience practicing pediatrics, 15 years of urgent care experience, and being a Mom of 3, Marie is uniquely suited to provide urgent care services to kids and adults. She strongly believes in Carbon Health's culture of providing exceptional, accessible, and inclusive healthcare to all and loves to make people feel better than when they first walk in to her clinic.
