Animal Bite
Animal bites are serious incidents that should be followed up with a medical visit, even if the damage appears minor. The saliva of an animal can cause serious infections, including the rabies virus.
- If you are bitten by an animal, immediately wash the wound with mild soap and warm water for several minutes to reduce the risk of infection. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Apply a clean cloth or sterile bandage to control bleeding if necessary. Seek medical attention promptly, especially for deep or puncture wounds, as you may need antibiotics or a tetanus shot.
