Swollen Eyes

A swollen eye (puffy eyes) is normally caused by inflammation in the skin around the eyes. While exhaustion can leave a person's eyes swollen, especially in the morning, it should go away fast. If your eyes swell often, it may be due to allergies. Seek immediate medical care if your eyes are severely swollen or if your vision changes.
Swollen eyes can be a symptom of various conditions, ranging from minor issues like allergies or lack of sleep to more serious medical conditions. Some common causes of swollen eyes include allergies, conjunctivitis (pink eye), sinusitis, trauma or injury to the eye or eyelid, and infections such as cellulitis or orbital cellulitis.
