White Tongue

A white tongue occurs when small bumps called papillae inflame or swell. It's often a result of substances getting stuck between papillae, so it can generally be fixed with good oral hygiene practices. Some diseases can inflame papillae, so contact a nearby Carbon Health if you have recurring or unmanageable white coloration on the tongue.
To get rid of a white tongue, you can try brushing your tongue gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush or using a tongue scraper to remove the white coating, improving oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing daily, and using mouthwash, drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated, avoiding tobacco and alcohol, and treating any underlying medical conditions that may be causing the white tongue.
