Abnormal EKG (ECG)

Abnormal results in an EKG (electrocardiogram) reflect unusual heart activity that is cause for concern. While sometimes these results occur due to normal rhythms in heartbeats or equipment malfunction, it is important to follow up with further medical examination, as they may be signs of serious heart conditions.
The most common cause of left axis deviation on an electrocardiogram (ECG) is a left anterior fascicular block (LAFB). LAFB is a condition where there is a delay or blockage in the conduction of electrical impulses through the left anterior fascicle of the bundle branch system in the heart.
