Rapid Breathing
Rapid breathing, or hyperventilation, is normally a result of exertion. If you're breathing rapidly while trying to perform everyday tasks, discuss it with a healthcare provider. This could be due to underlying health issues like asthma. Seek emergency care at a nearby Carbon Health if you experience a sudden onset or if you cannot catch your breath.
- Rapid breathing, also known as tachypnea, can be caused by a range of factors. One common cause is physical activity or exercise, which can increase the demand for oxygen and cause the body to breathe more rapidly. Other causes may include anxiety, stress, or panic attacks, which can trigger hyperventilation and rapid breathing. Medical conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, or heart failure can also cause rapid breathing.
