Cut
Cuts can lead to infection and gangrene if not sanitized and treated. Deep cuts, or cuts caused by unsanitary objects, should be followed up with medical examination, as infection or complications are a strong possibility.
- For a deep cut, it is generally recommended to apply direct pressure with a clean cloth or sterile gauze to control bleeding. Avoid using any ointments, creams, or home remedies on the wound as they can introduce bacteria and hinder proper healing. Instead, clean the wound gently with mild soap and water, removing any debris or dirt. Once clean, cover the cut with a sterile dressing or non-stick bandage to protect it from dirt and further injury. Seek medical attention promptly, especially if the cut is gaping, doesn't stop bleeding, or appears to require stitches.
