Bruise

When blood vessels beneath the skin are popped due to stress or trauma, they form a bruise. Most bruises heal on their own. If you have a very large bruise, an abnormally dark bruise, or a bruise that does not subside with time, schedule an appointment with a nearby Carbon Health to examine the bruise and determine if treatment is necessary.
A bruise is a result of blood leaking into the tissues under the skin after an injury, causing discoloration and tenderness. In most cases, a bruise will go away on its own as the body gradually reabsorbs the blood.
