Fainting (Syncope)
Fainting or Syncope is when a person briefly loses consciousness and control of their body. Fainting can be dangerous as a person may get hurt by the fall. Often fainting is due to heatstroke or lack of vital nutrients, but if you're unsure why you fainted, talk to a healthcare provider. It could be the result of a serious underlying health issue.
- Fainting, also known as syncope, can have various causes, but the most common cause is a temporary decrease in blood flow to the brain. This can happen due to factors such as vasovagal syncope, dehydration, low blood sugar, medication, heart problems, or neurological conditions.
