Hoarse Voice

A hoarse voice is normally a symptom of a cold or virus-like strep, though speaking at a loud volume can also cause a hoarse voice. If conditions do not improve within three weeks, see a nearby Carbon Health, as this may be a sign of underlying health issues.
Losing your voice without being sick can have various causes. Excessive vocal strain from shouting or speaking loudly, vocal cord nodules or polyps, acid reflux (GERD), allergies or postnasal drip, dryness or dehydration, and psychological factors like stress or anxiety are common factors. If voice loss persists or significantly impacts your daily life, consulting an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat specialist) for evaluation and appropriate management is recommended.
