Throwing Up

Throwing up, or vomiting is your body's way of removing toxins from the stomach without going through the digestive tract. It can often be treated at home with frequent hydration. However, if your vomiting lasts more than a day, occurs excessively, or is accompanied by blood, seek medical care. For infants, seek medical care if it lasts longer than a few hours.
Vomiting can be caused by a variety of factors, including viral infections, food poisoning, motion sickness, alcohol consumption, medication side effects, and underlying medical conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or pancreatitis.
