Bleeding Gums

Bleeding gums are normally caused by plaque buildup between the teeth and gums, which leads to a disease known as gingivitis. Tobacco use, aggressive flossing, cuts, and some dental conditions can also cause bleeding gums.
There are several reasons why your gums may suddenly start to bleed. Some common causes include gum disease, such as gingivitis or periodontitis, which can cause inflammation and bleeding of the gums, especially when brushing or flossing. Brushing too hard or using a toothbrush with hard bristles can also cause bleeding of the gums.
