Laceration
A laceration is a cut or tears through the skin. It's different from punctures and abrasions in that does not tear away skin and the wound has a long, thin shape. Minor lacerations can be treated at home by sanitizing and bandaging them, but seek medical care if the laceration is deep, caused by a dirty object, or if the bleeding won't stop. Infection is a serious risk.
