Urinary health
You can manage your urinary health in a few ways, including by drinking plenty of fluids and urinating when you feel the urge. Consider scheduling an urgent care visit if you are experiencing any change in urination, such as frequency, pain or change in odor or color. These symptoms can be the sign of a urinary issue.
- Your healthcare provider will probably prescribe antibiotics. Symptoms generally improve within 48 hours; if they don’t, you should contact your healthcare provider. UTIs can pose more serious health problems if they spread to the kidneys, so it is important to treat them early. Using a heating pad can help relieve pain caused by a UTI. Drinking plenty of water (two to three liters daily) and urinating immediately after sex may help prevent recurring UTIs.
