Meet Brigid Reynolds, Center Manager of our Downtown Boston location. In this post, she shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the local community unique.
What types of patients do you see?
Our Downtown Boston immediate care clinic treats patients of all ages for a wide range of non-life-threatening conditions that require prompt attention. This includes illnesses such as colds, flu, infections, and minor injuries like cuts, sprains, and burns. We also provide services like physical exams/sports physicals, diagnostic testing, and point patients in the right direction for continuity of care. We have many hotels in our area, as well as colleges and schools, which allow us to care for those who are traveling, far from home, and need immediate help. Our goal is to offer convenient, high-quality care when you need it most!
Where are you located?
Our clinic is located at 80 Summer Street in downtown Boston, just a short walk from South Station—making it especially convenient for commuters. We’re also near Downtown Crossing and only a 10-minute walk from Boston Common. Our downtown clinic is conveniently located in a vibrant area surrounded by plenty of amenities. Within less than a minute’s walk, you’ll find popular coffee spots like Starbucks and Dunkin', as well as a variety of food options including NAYA, CAVA, Anna’s Taqueria, Sweetgreen, and Chipotle. We’re also just down the street from shopping destinations like Macy’s and Primark.

What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
We mainly serve the Downtown Crossing population, and are just down the street from Chinatown! We see a large variety in patients. We are near many hotels that provide us with patients who are traveling. For commuters we are a five minute walk from South Station, Downtown Crossing train station for both the orange and red line.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
My favorite part about the Downtown location is the team. Our team at Downtown is kind, compassionate, and reliable. We are always focused on supporting patients when they’re not feeling their best, and ensuring that patient needs are top priority. We take the time to listen, provide thoughtful care, and ensure each person feels comfortable and well cared for from the moment they walk in. It is our mission to make every visit as smooth and reassuring as possible during what can often be a stressful time.

Any tips for first-time patients?
For first time patients there are parking garages nearby such as LAZ parking, One Lincoln, Lafayette Garage, and Haymarket Center Garage. For commuters our clinic is about a five minute walk from both South Station and Downtown Crossing Station. As for the clinic itself we are directly in between Anna's Taqueria and Taco Bell, and directly across the street from NAYA.
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
We are involved in the Downtown Boston Alliance Group. This group highlights and informs the community of the fun events, attractions, district events and so much more around Boston. Having this involvement helps us to give back to our community and show our patients how much we care. We also are involved with the Boston Chamber of Commerce, and have been invited to networking events to help spread the word about our clinics and how we help patients!
Any local ties?
A good amount of our employees are from out of state and have found their way to Carbon by going to Colleges in the state of Massachusetts. Many of our employees look to further their medical education studies, and many of them are actively going through that process!
