Meet Kylie Keyes, Center Manager, and Deigh Horak, former Center Manager of our Long Beach, CA - Ocean location. In this post, they share a closer look at the clinic and what makes the downtown Long Beach community unique.
What types of patients do you see?
Long Beach is a vibrant, urban, beach city and we see patients from all walks of life. Our urgent care clinic cares for local residents, professionals working nearby, students, families, and individuals who are visiting or traveling through the area. We also see lots of visitors year-round, with a convention center about 5 minutes away walking distance. So our downtown Long Beach urgent care caters to tourists, travelers, young professionals and corporate conventions. Most of our visits are for cold + flu symptoms, sexual health, and UTIs, but we’re here to support a wide range of healthcare needs for anyone in our community.
Where are you located?
We’re located in the Downtown Long Beach area on the corner of E Ocean Blvd and Linden Ave, next door to Naree Thai Restaurant and the steakhouse 555 East. If you use map directions to find us, include the suite number (#110) for exact locations, but also know that just including the street address will get you very close! Please give us a call if you have any trouble finding the clinic.

What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
Being in such an urban location, we mainly serve the local Long Beach community, but we see patients from Belmont Shores and Naples, and from all over Los Angeles. Sometimes, people don’t feel well while they’re sightseeing, so we’ll also get visitors of the Aquarium of the Pacific, Shoreline Village (both 20 min walk away), and the Queen Mary (10 min drive).
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
The team! Each one of the clinic staff brings something special to the clinic, which makes Long Beach Ocean a success. We often receive positive patient reviews for our welcoming experience, clean facilities, and great service.
Any tips for first-time patients?
Please plan to arrive early for your appointment as street parking can be difficult. There is a parking lot just around the corner at 500 Bronce Way. Other options would be Long Beach transit (Long Beach Blvd & 1st SE is the closest stop) or Metrolink (Downtown Long Beach station).
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
Pride, Long Beach Grand Prix We often participate in local events. Recently, for Long Beach Pride, several local Center Managers (like myself) and providers marched in the parade with a banner representing Carbon Health. We often host booths too, like in the picture below, and for the tree lighting we set up a table in front of the clinic to hand out hot chocolate and Carbon information to passersby. We are in the direct path of people walking to the tree lighting.
