Meet Evan Hancher, Center Manager of our North Hollywood, CA (aka NoHo) location. In this post, he shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the NoHo community unique.
What types of patients do you see?
The Carbon Health in North Hollywood sees patients of all ages and backgrounds! Many families with children, young and older adults, and a lot of individuals who live and work in the North Hollywood, Valley Village, and Burbank areas. Being an X-ray hub, we’re often sought out for our on-site radiology capabilities. We also welcome patients who take part in our clinical research studies, which lets the community contribute to advancing medicine while getting access to new care options.
Where are you located?
We’re inside the NoHo West shopping center on Laurel Canyon Blvd and Oxnard Street. The easiest entrance is right off Laurel Canyon, across from Jersey Mike's and next to Paris Baguette.
What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
Most of our patients come from North Hollywood, Valley Village, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, and Burbank. A lot of people call this area NoHo, and we’re also really close to the 170 and 101, so it’s easy for folks coming from other parts of the Valley.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
Definitely the people! Both our team and our patients. We have a lot of “regulars” who we know by name, and our staff is super close-knit, so it feels more like a community than just a clinic.
Any tips for first-time patients?
Parking is easy! You can park for free anywhere in the NoHo West lot. If the Laurel Canyon entrance is blocked, there’s another entrance off Oxnard Street that drops you right into the parking garage. Give yourself a couple of extra minutes to find us the first time, but once you know where we are, it’s simple.
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
We partner with nearby schools and sports programs for physicals, and we’ve supported local events like summer health fairs and races. We also work with businesses in the Valley to provide occupational health services for their employees.
Any local ties?
A few of our team members grew up right here in the Valley, and we all have our go-to spots nearby. Porto’s in Burbank is a team favorite for lunch, and sometimes we’ll grab coffee from Philz down the street. Our Center Medical Director is also the president of her local PTA in Valley Village, which keeps us connected to local schools and families in a really personal way. We really feel tied into this neighborhood since most of us live close by.
