Meet Josue Ramos, Center Manager of our Ocean, NJ location. In this post, he shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the local Ocean community unique.
Where are you located?
You’ll find us in the Asbury Circle Plaza, next to Pop's Bagels & Pizza Hut, which is also across the street from Shoprite in Neptune.
What types of patients do you see?
At our Ocean urgent care clinic, we see a mix of patients including local families, visitors and travelers coming down to the shore and Monmouth University students. Monmouth university is approximately 10 mins from us, so we’re a good go-to for students who are looking for care. We also see people for workers’ comp and occupational health services such as physicals, pre-op testing, injuries and more!
What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
Our team is ideally situated to serve the Jersey Shore around Asbury Park, which has a lot of tourism being near the beach and boardwalk. The Asbury Park train station is just minutes from us and the Newark Liberty International Airport is about 45 mins from us as well. Also, we’re 15 mins from Long Branch Train station which is close to Pier Village, another well known spot by the beach nearby.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
We strive to provide exceptional care regardless of who or where you are from. Our team is here to help, therefore our goal is to understand and assist patients with the best care possible! Having a solid team is key, despite all the ups and downs we stick through it and push through always!
Any tips for first-time patients?
When arriving from the East (via Asbury Ave) or South (on NJ-35), you will take a right after passing Enterprise Car Rental. There is free parking in front of the clinic. Remember to bring your ID and insurance card if you have insurance. We also accept self-pay individuals for those who are uninsured.
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
We attend community events at Monmouth University, and local events like the Autism Beach Bash in Belmar, NJ and the Cancer Awareness event in Long Branch at Ocean Place hotel. We’re also planning to attend Neptune Day this fall, which is a local community event in the town over to help residents become aware of our services in the area. Any local ties?
I grew up in Neptune, NJ and have lived there for 26 years. During high school, I volunteered at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for an internship program. When you visit our location, you’re not just visiting a local clinic, but being cared for by local neighbors too.
