Meet Josh Espinoza, Center Manager of our Santa Clara, CA location. In this post, he shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the local Santa Clara community unique.
Where are you located?
Being located in Santa Clara means we’re serving a blend of long-time residents and newer tech-driven population, which gives us insight into local health-needs and patterns. We see a very broad mix of patients at our Santa Clara clinic from urgent care needs (colds, flu, sore throats, UTIs, rashes, minor injuries, etc.) to primary care patients who want ongoing care beyond immediate urgent issues (medication management, screenings, wellness checks). Because of our flexible scheduling and tech-platform, we also see younger working adults, startup/tech workers in the area, and busy families who appreciate convenience. We also handle certain workplace health services (pre-employment physicals, drug screenings) as indicated in our urgent-care service list for this location.
What types of patients do you see?
We are located at 2712 Augustine Dr, Ste 120, Santa Clara, CA 95054. Our clinic is in the “Santa Clara Square” complex and is well-positioned for access from nearby neighborhoods. Notably, there is a large Whole Foods grocery store across the parking lot.
Additionally, we’re part of the South Bay network of Carbon Health, so we often meet up with our sister locations for local outreach and to participate in community health events together.
What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
We serve patients from the immediate Santa Clara area, including neighborhoods like Rivermark, North Santa Clara, and the Santa Clara Square/Agnew Rd area. We also draw from surrounding communities: San Jose (especially the northern part), Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Milpitas, Mountain View and parts of Palo Alto especially when patients work here or need convenient access. Because we’re centrally located in the South Bay tech corridor, we often serve people who live in one city but work in another.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
Honestly, my favorite thing about working at our Santa Clara clinic is the team — we’re such a close, supportive group. Everyone here genuinely enjoys working together, which makes even our busiest days feel fun and collaborative. We celebrate birthdays, share snacks, and check in on each other constantly. That sense of camaraderie makes the clinic feel more like a family than just a workplace. And we’re definitely spoiled when it comes to food options around here! Being in Santa Clara Square means we’re surrounded by amazing restaurants — everything from quick bites like Halal Guys and Eureka to local favorites like Quiroga Taqueria down the street. There’s always a new spot to try for lunch, or a great place to grab dinner after a shift. Between the great food and the great people, it’s hard not to love working here.

Any local ties?
Absolutely! We have a lot of local roots here in Santa Clara. Several of our medical assistants and providers actually grew up in the area or nearby cities like San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Milpitas. Because of that, they really understand the community and the people we serve — they’ve gone to the local schools, eaten at the same restaurants, and know all the hidden gems in the neighborhood. It’s great having a team with such strong local connections because it gives our clinic a really personal touch. Patients often recognize familiar faces or discover mutual connections, which helps create that welcoming, hometown feel even in a busy city like Santa Clara.
