At Carbon Health, our commitment to providing world-class care goes far beyond our clinics. We’re not only looking for ways to advance patient care. We’re working to advance healthcare as a whole. So in addition to providing primary and urgent care, our expert providers also conduct cutting-edge research aimed at continuously advancing healthcare — participating in clinical trials focused on medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines.
With our Clinical Research division, we have the ability to affect the lives of millions of people across the globe. But it’s not just that fact that we conduct research that makes us stand out; it’s how we do it that makes a difference. By bringing together advanced technology and a desire for a better patient experience, our streamlined platform for primary and urgent care allows patients to find care where they need it, when they need it. This unique advantage allows us to provide partners with a large, diverse patient pool and geographic reach for their studies. Many clinical trials aren’t inclusive enough, and we strive to be diverse in our enrollment to ensure that future therapies and interventions work well and are safe for all people. With more than 50 clinics and millions of patients throughout the country, our reach allows us to recruit more patients, ensuring that partners work with the right population for studies to be accurate and successful.
But we don’t stop there. We know a program is only as good as the talented people who move it forward. Carbon Health is made up of passionately dedicated professionals, including Aaron Weinberg, MD, the program’s national Co-director of Clinical Research and Carbon Health’s Director of Program Development. “I am excited to be a part of this team,” says Aaron. “Research is one of my career passions. I have worked for years conducting research on pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis — blood clots in the lungs and legs — at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and I started my research career studying pandemics as international security threats through my graduate work at Cambridge University in the U.K.”
He continues, “To me, clinical research is the vehicle through which we can advance the future health and well-being of our communities — through the discovery of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. At Carbon Health, our mission is to provide world-class healthcare for all, and this extends to research as well. We will continuously strive to improve access to the latest trials, to ensure that tomorrow's medicine works for all people.”
Co-directing the program is our Director of Strategic Initiatives, Daniel Judd. Daniel launched Carbon Health’s virtual care team and its mental health program, and he oversaw the operational design of our primary care initiatives. Daniel has a deep commitment to advancing clinical trials, due to experiences in his personal life.
Daniel explains, “I was very sick when I was four years old — spending seven weeks in a coma. But an experimental drug saved my life. I couldn’t be more excited to be leading our Clinical Research division, with a mission to improve the lives of millions of patients across the world. Through Carbon Health’s Clinical Research division and our clinics nationwide, we’re building the best clinical site platform for a sponsor to work with to bring drugs, diagnostics, and other technologies to market much faster.”
The program’s Clinical Research Administrator, Niree Hindoyan, will provide guidance on the development and execution of research studies. About her reason for joining Carbon Health’s Research team, Niree says, “Clinical research gives us hope for a better tomorrow. Carbon Health gives us hope for better care. Together, the potential is unbounded. I am looking forward to assisting with the growth of this novel program!” As a former research specialist at Cedars-Sinai and a Research Program Coordinator at Weill Cornell Medicine, Niree has coordinated nearly 100 research studies.
