At Carbon Health, our clinicians have been working tirelessly around the clock to make sure everyone is getting the care they need during these trying times. From pop-up testing sites to helping test vulnerable populations in assisted living facilities, we are doing our part to help flatten the curve.
Check out how we’re helping stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities and beyond.
On April 15, 2020, we took testing on the road with our first-ever Mobile COVID-19 Testing Clinic thanks to a partnership with Studio Dental. Our first stop was at Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco with plans for additional stops throughout the Bay Area in the coming weeks including Redwood City, Fremont, Napa, Novato, Pleasanton and Vallejo. Anyone interested in taking a Rapid COVID-19 test can make an appointment on Carbonhealth.com or through our app.
Since early April, Carbon Health clinicians have been supporting local governments in their communities by testing people for COVID.
A pop-up testing site located at Pier 30/32 in San Francisco has been able to test 200–500 people a day and in Los Angeles, walk-up clinics like Carbon Health’s Echo Park location are seeing 50 plus people daily.
A team of 11 Bay Area Carbon Health clinicians teamed up with Togg, a company whose mission is to improve the health of seniors living in assisted homes after they learned one of the facilities had been exposed to COVID-19. They were able to go into the assisted living facility and test 78 residents, many of whom had dementia, and 75 staff members, in one day. They hope to team up again to go into other vulnerable areas to help test those who might have been exposed to the virus. We wouldn’t team up with Togg for this unless it’s at one of their facilities. We would be happy to do this at other senior centers. If you know of another nursing home or assisted living center that needs testing, just email essentialbusiness@carbonhealth.com
Carbon Health has also teamed up with Braid Health to launch the first-ever, live, open-source database of COVID-19 imaging and clinical data. It is updated weekly. By sharing this data we hope that we can 1) accelerate information sharing among frontline healthcare providers and 2) facilitate studies on COVID-19 signs, symptoms, stages, and care plans.
Many clinicians have been on the frontlines of the coronavirus crisis since the beginning of the pandemic, but increased demand for tests and safety concerns have made it more and more difficult to get our patients the care they need when they need it. With Virtual Care you can get treated for a range of symptoms and conditions from home without risk of exposure. We also offer virtual mental health and pediatric care. Expect the same great care, wherever you are, right from your smartphone.
To help you stay grounded and find some peace of mind during these uncertain times, tune into “On-Call with Carbon.” Our resident clinical psychologist, Dr. Sarah Borish, along with guest Carbon providers, shares wellness tips, tricks and other techniques to help you get by day-to-day in this ongoing series.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten the health and safety of people across the United States and around the world, it’s important to act quickly. By getting ahead of the problem, we can flatten the curve together.
