Meet Jesus Ramirez, Center Manager of our Atascadero, CA location. In this post, he shares a closer look at the clinic and what makes the Atascadero & Paso Robles community unique.
What types of patients do you see?
At the Atascadero urgent care, we see patients for urgent care needs. This area is known for its wines, so we do get a lot of tourists and people passing by, as well as students because we are also next to San Luis Obispo, which has a university and community college. We also provide workplace health services, like workers’ comp, physicals, drug screenings, and blood work.
Something you may not know is that we also see a lot of geriatric patients due to a shortage of primary care providers in this area. They visit us for the usual urgent care service, like cold and flu symptoms or UTIs, as well as pre-op evaluations.
Where are you located?
We are located on El Camino Real, right next to the Habit Burger. It’s easy to find us by getting off the Morro Rd exit on 101. If you know where the Vons is in Adobe Plaza, we are across from there!
What are the main cities or neighborhoods you serve?
We serve the communities of Paso Robles, Templeton, Santa Margarita and San Luis Obispo. In fact, we have a sister location in Paso Robles, which is about a 15-minute drive north of here, and work closely with them to serve the central coast.
What’s your favorite thing about working at this location?
The Team, the Regulars and overall atmosphere - we foster a very calm and welcoming atmosphere, but I’d say that the team is also very uplifting and motivating at the same time!
Any tips for first-time patients?
We share the parking area next to the Habit Burger, right off El Camino Real. Please remember to bring your ID and insurance card, so you have a smooth check-in for your visit. Also, we see both walk-ins and people with appointments, so either way we are ready to care for you.
How is Carbon Health involved in the local community?
We work with the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce to help spread the word and awareness of what we can do at urgent care. We want people to know we are a reliable health resource in the community. We all grew up in the area, and as locals we’re happy to participate in local events as well. In the picture below, we are providing first at the Atascadero Wine Fest this past summer:
