Breast Calcifications

Breast calcifications are calcium deposits within breast tissue. They appear as white spots or flecks on a mammogram. They are common and sometimes indicate breast cancer or precancerous changes to breast tissue. If they appear in a mammogram, your provider may request a second mammogram with more magnification, as well as further tests.
